BEFORE YOU PRESS RECORD AGAIN

A few useful answers.

What goes in, what comes out, and what this edition actually does.

What does the Podcast Show Notes Generator do?

It turns an English transcript into an editable publishing draft: an extractive summary, key sentences, timestamp-based chapter suggestions, transcript excerpts and keywords. It also offers simple title prompts and export formats.

Does the tool use an AI API?

This edition runs locally without an AI service. It ranks sentences and selects text from your transcript. It does not claim to understand an audio recording or generate an AI-written summary.

Can I upload an audio or video file?

No. Paste a transcript or import a TXT, SRT or VTT text file. Audio transcription and video downloads are not included.

Where do the chapter timestamps come from?

From timestamps already present in your transcript. With plain untimed text, chapters remain empty. The tool never invents timestamps or infers an episode duration from a transcript.

Can I edit the result?

Yes. Use the editable Markdown tab to revise your publishing copy. Download the edited Markdown or TXT. The HTML export and preview use the original structured result, so regenerate to change that structured output.

Where are my transcripts stored?

Your draft and saved episodes stay in this browser on this device. They are not uploaded to a Hobbiton Media database by this edition. Export backups if you want a separate copy.

Can I buy a subscription?

Plans lead to a checkout review, but payments and paid account activation are not connected. Reaching checkout does not charge you or start a subscription.

Can the tool publish to my podcast host?

No. Download or copy the draft, review it, and publish through your usual hosting or content system. No automatic posting or social media connection is included.
